Rhodia pads are a high quality notepad from top French stationery brand Rhodia, known for their exacting standards and timeless design. These economical pads are favored by artists, designers, writers and anyone who likes to sketch or hand draft. Rhodia paper pads and notebooks, in either the iconic orange cover (dating back to 1934) or the newer black cover, are closely associated with creativity and innovation. People love them for their grids, smooth paper & iconic cover.
Rhodia pads are built for ease of use and lasting value, with reinforced staples for extra strength, a scored cover for neat folding, microperforated sheets for easy and clean removal, ultra smooth extra white 80g Clairefontaine paper and a stiff back cover to make writing or sketching easy and portable.
The stationery firm “Papeteries Vérilhac Frères” was founded in Lyon, France, in 1932 by the brothers, Henri and Robert Vérilhac, they sold stationery across France and North Africa. Two years later the brothers dream of manufacturing their own stationery was realised, and in 1934, the now famous orange Rhodia pad was born.
Rhodia reflects the brand’s origins by the Rhône River in France, where the people from this region are known as ‘Rhodaniens’, and which led the brothers to create the name – Rhodia. The two-joined fir trees symbolize the company’s founding brothers, Henri and Robert Vérilhac. Family legend has it the logo was drawn spontaneously in a single stroke by Antonia, Henri Vérilhac’s wife, and the hand drawn, sans serif letters reflect Rhodia’s modernist roots to this day.
