Montegrappa - Ducale - Justice - Fountain Pen
Montegrappa Ducale Justice Fountain Pen
Honouring the famous palace on Venice’s Piazza San Marco, the Ducale pen collection represents a perfect balance of power and poise. It first appeared in the 1930s to mark the high-end pens of the Elmo line. The name drew inspiration from the famous Doge’s Palace, one of the symbols of the city of Venice. Generous proportions convey authority and substance, both in the hand and on the page. Clean lines, refined finishing and reliable performance make Ducale a popular choice of professionals, company men and power women. Style is temporary. Class is permanent.
The Montegrappa Ducale collection continues to provide a canvas for designs with messages of great significance. Among them is a sense of justice. The Ducale Lustitia means “Lady Justice” and is the embodiment of fairness. Her universally recognized image includes the scales of justice, with which both sides of an argument are weighed and compared. She is always shown blindfolded to indicate that justice shows no favoritism. The Montegrappa Ducale Justice is the fountain pen of the justice guild: lawyers, attorneys, solicitors, barristers, judges and all the legal professionals who must practice justice with a pure heart.
The Ducale Justice is made from polished Black resin and trimmed with stainless steel. The Lady Justice silhouette crowns the signature clip, while the pen’s screw cap, which can be posted, is engraved with the scales of justice and equality. The back of the pen cap reads “Dura lex, sed lex” which translates as “The law is harsh, but it is the law”. These large pens are perfectly balanced for writing comfort. They offer a highly polished steel fine point nib engraved with a beautiful Montegrappa filigree pattern. The fountain pen utilizes a cartridge/converter fill system. The Montegrappa Ducale Justice makes an ideal gift for those in the legal profession, or for anyone who is just starting law school.

Montegrappa was founded under the slogan "Maker of gold nibs and fountain pens" in 1912. Its products are still manufactured in the original factory on the river Brenta, in Bassano del Grappa - near Vicenza, in the North-East of Italy. Montegrappa takes its name from another industry that lies within a stone’s throw of the Montegrappa factory - the Grappa industry. Grappa is a local alcoholic beverage that has never been more popular, finding new friends in bars and saloons from Mumbai to Manhattan to Macau. Montegrappa makes Regular Edition; Limited Edition; and Special Edition Pens. Pens come in three forms; rollerball; ballpoint or fountain. In addition to these forms, Montegrappa makes pens out of various precious materials; silver and gold are the most common used material. Montegrappa also made a series of Ferrari Pens; a series of Elvis Pens; a DC Comics series; and a golf edition.
