Montegrappa - Fortuna - Blue Blazer - Fountain Pen
Montegrappa Fortuna Blue Blazer Fountain Pen
Inspired by the success of the Fortuna Mule line, Montegrappa again reaches for the spirits to channel the famous Blue Blazer. The Blue Blazer, an enticing mix of scotch, boiling water and powdered sugar, earned its name from the spectacle that accompanies its delivery - the drink is lit on fire! The Montegrappa Fortuna Blue Blazer fountain pen is a modern reinterpretation of a classic, everyday writing pen. Montegrappa introduced the design back in 2012 and it quickly became the flagship model for the Italian brand.
The Fortuna Blue Blazer takes the graceful profile lines of the cap and body and accents it with a polished metal look. The cap and barrel are constructed of fire-burnished stainless steel with a vintage-looking brushed silver trim. The polished steel surface of the pen barrel and cap basks in bluish, iridescent shades, just as a heated metal would do. Montegrappa follows a deliberate and artistic hand-burnishing process for each pen which means that your Blue Blazer won’t look like anyone else’s! It’s truly a unique fountain pen. The Montegrappa Blazer comes with a stainless steel nib that has been etched with a Montegrappa filigree pattern and it uses a cartridge/converter filling system.
The Montegrappa Fortuna Blue Blazer will appeal to those writers who value authenticity, craft and, let’s be honest, a good, stiff drink! To assist in this pursuit, every Blue Blazer fountain pen comes with a special Blazer tankard like the ones that are traditionally used to prepare the drink. Montegrappa has even included their new, Italian spin on the Blue Blazer classic recipe, made with grappa, sugar, cinnamon and orange essential oils!

Montegrappa was founded under the slogan "Maker of gold nibs and fountain pens" in 1912. Its products are still manufactured in the original factory on the river Brenta, in Bassano del Grappa - near Vicenza, in the North-East of Italy. Montegrappa takes its name from another industry that lies within a stone’s throw of the Montegrappa factory - the Grappa industry. Grappa is a local alcoholic beverage that has never been more popular, finding new friends in bars and saloons from Mumbai to Manhattan to Macau. Montegrappa makes Regular Edition; Limited Edition; and Special Edition Pens. Pens come in three forms; rollerball; ballpoint or fountain. In addition to these forms, Montegrappa makes pens out of various precious materials; silver and gold are the most common used material. Montegrappa also made a series of Ferrari Pens; a series of Elvis Pens; a DC Comics series; and a golf edition.
