Jean-Pierre Lepine Winston Fountain Pen - Morta Wood
Jean-Pierre Lepine “Winston” Morta Wood Fountain Pen
The Jean-Pierre Lepine "Winston" is a large fountain pen inspired by Winston Churchill and the cigars he constantly smoked. The pen is actually comparable in size to those cigars. The Lepine Winston fountain pen is made from Morta Wood (also known as bog wood). Morta wood is a dark and beautiful partially petrified oak that dates back 5,000 years and has been reclaimed from a peat bog. The peat bog’s acidity and anaerobic conditions preserve the oak from decay, slowly leaching out tannins, leaving the wood in the early stages of fossilization. The pen’s trim and pen clip are a Matte Nickel-plated Brass and the cap unscrews to post on the back of the pen’s body. The polished Stainless Steel nib is available in a Fine, Medium or Broad size and writes smoothly with a nice amount of spring. If you like your pens to run large, then you’ll really enjoy using a Winston for some great calligraphy. The Winston can use any international size ink cartridge or converter as well as long ink refill cartridges. A small international ink cartridge is included. The Winston is made entirely in the Lepine workshop in Haut Jura, France and comes packaged in an orange and brown gift box marked with the Lepine logo. This Jean-Pierre Lepine Winston has an exclusive Papier Plume 5-year extended warranty.
