The e+m "Workman" 5.5mm Clutch Pencils are e+m’s most successful clutch pencils. They are elegant and comfortable sketching tools handmade in Germany. The e+m Workman clutch pencil has a European style that features a Black Stained FSC-certified Beechwood barrel with Stainless Steel trim and are available in 2 sizes: Long and Short. The Short is pocket-sized and ready for travel. This clutch pencil was handmade on classic wood turning machines using traditional Bavarian techniques. The Stainless Steel push-button end cap advances the 5.5mm or 5.6mm lead, which is held in place by the clutch, a jawed pressure clamp. Press and hold the end cap button to open the clutch to reload your lead. With the two available sizes, artists at home or on the go have access to the perfect clutch pencil for drawing, sketching or highlighting. The e+m Workman clutch pencil comes packaged in a paper sleeve inside a slim box.
This e+m Workman Clutch pencil uses FSC-certified wood, which can be shown to come from forests that meet the internationally recognized principles and criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council. Environmentally appropriate forest management ensures that the harvest of timber and non-timber products maintains the forest's biodiversity, productivity, and ecological processes.
Consistency, comfort, balance. The clutch pencil body size never changes as the lead is used and it maintains a fairly consistent weight and balance. Artists who spend long periods of time shading with regular pencils can get frustrated as the pencil shortens. A clutch pencil adds precision and reliability, so many artists prefer using them when drawing for hours at a time.
