What are Deckle Edges?

Deckled stationery represents old world craftsmanship. When the paper-making process changed in the 19th century and smooth edges appeared, the deckle edge slowly emerged as a status symbol. The feather edge is the result of the stationery sheets being naturally and carefully torn.
