About Vachetta Leather

Vachetta leather is a tough, long lasting and hard wearing leather that is usually colored by dyes. It has no protective treatments applied after its colouring process which makes it very absorbent. Minimal tanning and processing makes Vachetta leather soft and smooth, but it is very absorbent and will change color over time, developing a unique patina. Make sure you protect your leather the day you get it! Add a protective cream to greatly reduce the potential of leather stains. Wipe down and remove hand oils before they have a chance to soak in will keep the color of your leather looking newer for longer. If you get caught in the rain, you should blot the wet area with a dry cloth. Do not rub the area. Rubbing can cause the area to become shiny, but also runs the risk of spreading the stain.
