The Wahl-Eversharp Skyline pen series was inspired by Henry Dreyfuss’ streamlined design of the New York Central 20th Century Limited locomotive, not the New York Skyline. Collectors take note - these pens are made to the exact specifications of the original, so the caps and clips will fit on any original Skyline pen.
The Wahl-Eversharp Skyline Demonstrator fountain pen features a Transparent Red acrylic barrel with a stately Palladium-plated cap and Gold-plated trim. Vintage fans will appreciate that the threaded screw-on cap attaches firmly, yet gently, to the grip and posts securely. “Skyline Demonstrator” is etched into the bottom of the cap. There is a beautiful and sturdy Gold-plated over-the-crown pocket clip which clips securely in your pocket or notebook. This pen clip is one of the most distinguishing factors of the Wahl-Eversharp Skyline pen series! The Skyline Demonstrator features a Semi-Flex Ceramic-coated Gold-plated Stainless Steel nib with a Fine-Medium point. It’s a wonderful nib width that’s not too stiff. There is an Art Deco design on the nib with “Skyline” nicely displayed in an arc at the bottom. Overall, this is a very handsome writing instrument that has heft, yet feels well-balanced in your hand as you write. You’ll find the piston ink converter underneath the blind cap, but you can also remove the converter and use long international standard ink cartridges. The Skyline Demonstrator arrives in a glossy black lacquer piano box with WAHL-EVERSHARP embossed in gold foil on the outside and inside of the lid. The fountain pen itself is sealed inside a protective crystal cylinder case. There is a Wahl-Eversharp instruction booklet and warranty card included.

WAHL-EVERSHARP fountain pens first appeared on some of the finest “golden era” fountain pens in 1929. The Deco Band, the Doric and the Skyline fountain pens of the 1920’s, 1930’s and 1940’s were among the most successful vintage fountain pens and mechanical pencils ever made. Wahl-Eversharp employed notable industrial designers Lowey and Dreyfus in the 1940’s. Mr. Dreyfus is responsible for the design of the world famous SKYLINE pens, the design of which is considered to be among the timeless icons of the 20th Century. There’s now a new retro Skyline fountain pen and a new Wahl-Eversharp Decoband pen line constructed of modern materials and incorporating a reliable, modern filling and ink handling system. The Wahl-Eversharp Company constructs its pens with the finest in materials, workmanship and design bringing forth top quality pens that sell for prices within the reach of most pen fanciers.
