These sealing wax sticks with wicks are imported directly from Scotland and come an array of 24 modern colors, both classic and metallic. They provide enough wax for 12-15 moderately sized seals. They ensure a hard, breakable wax seal and are not recommended for postal mailings (use a super pliable wax stick for mass mailings).
Sealing wax sticks with wicks are lit like a candle, then rotated as you drip the wax onto the surface you wish to seal. Once you have enough wax on your paper, envelope, card or bottle, you press your seal firmly into the warm wax and let it stand for a minute until it has cooled. Each sealing wax with wick order contains written how-to instructions on applying the wax. We have also created a video you can watch on the process. Find it at the bottom of the page.
Available classic colors: Solid Black, Pearl Ivory, Red, Plum, Pearl Magenta, Traditional Red, Pastel Blue, Blue, Wine, Fuschia Pearl, Green, Violet, Burgundy, and Navy Blue.
Available metallic colors: Copper, Silver, Gold, Chocolate, Pearl Champagne, Metallic Blue, Lavender Sparkle, Metallic Turquoise, Pearl Moss Green, and Metallic Green.
Discounted pricing when you order 5 or more pliable sealing wax sticks of the same color. Discount applied to the product in your shopping cart. If you are interested in purchasing a large number of sticks mix and mach colors - please contact us by phone or email.
CAUTION: Not recommended for children. Exercise care when using an open flame.
You can add some flair to your seal by pressing your metal seal into an inkpad of gold, silver, copper or other contrasting color before you apply the seal to the wax. This will create a two-tone accent to your finished seal!
Sealing wax sticks with wicks can be lit like a candle to begin melting the wax. Wax sticks can be melted at one end using a flame, but be careful not to ignite or blacken the wax! It’s best to slowly rotate the wax stick so you don’t blacken the wax or create a large gouge in the wax stick. Drip the melted wax onto your desired location. When using an oval wax seal, drip your wax in a circular shape. If you’re using a square wax seal, drip into a square shape. Wait about 7 seconds, then while the wax is still soft, quickly and firmly press your seal directly down into it and release. If you didn't chill your seal, wait about 10-15 seconds for the wax to cool before removing your seal. You can touch the edge of the wax underneath your seal to see if it is tacky, or if it has cooled. Wait until the wax doesn’t stick to your finger, then remove your seal. For best results with your impression, chill your seal beforehand using a bowl of ice or with an ice pack.
