Platinum Pen Company was founded in Japan in 1919 by Shunichi Nakata and are known for their exceptional workmanship, quality nibs and design. Papier Plume offers several Platinum fountain pens, including the #3776 Century. The Platinum #3776 series was created to celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary. They analyzed writing characteristics from 40,000 customers across the world and used the results to retool their fountain pen parts and production lines. One of their main innovations was the “Slip & Seal Mechanism” on screw-type caps that prevents fountain pen ink from drying out for up to 24 months. It also allows the use of pigment ink in a fountain pen without clogging.
